¶1. Effective January 3, 2010, unless 
otherwise noted, allowances and/or post 
differential rates are revised as shown. 
These changes are issued under TL:SR-724. 
 
¶2. Please inform local offices of all U.S. 
government agencies at the posts listed in 
this cable. 
 
¶3. Important: Read this entire message as 
posts may be listed more than once.  Changes 
are listed by allowance or differential 
rather than by post. 
 
¶4. Taiwan has been included, when applicable, 
under arrangement with the American Institute 
in Taiwan. 
 
¶5. The Post (Cost of Living) Allowance changes 
for Mozambique, Poland, and Sudan are based on 
Retail Price Surveys submitted by Maputo, 
Warsaw, and Juba, respectively.  All other Post 
Allowance changes are based on currency 
exchange rate information reported to the 
Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday 
of Pay Period 26 (December 24, 2009). 
 
¶6. The Education "At-Post" Allowance rate 
changes are based on updated information 
provided by posts for the current school year. 
The Education ?Away-From-Post? Allowance rate 
changes for Cuba and Greece, are based on 
updated assessments by the Office of Overseas 
Schools of the educational programs at post. 
 
¶7. The reporting requirements for submission 
of the Post (Hardship) Differential Survey 
for Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, is amended 
effective January 3, 2010, with TL:SR-724 as 
follows:

¶9. Effective January 3, 2010, the Post 
Allowance Payment Tables (DSSR 229.1) have 
been revised to reflect current Spendable 
Income.  The full revised tables are 
available on the Office of Allowances

¶10. Effective January 3, 2010, Wuhan, China, 
has been added to the list of posts where 
shipment of Consumables is authorized. 
A/LM/TTM will update 14 FAM 613.7 to reflect 
the addition of Wuhan to the Consumables 
Shipment list.
