the October 15 meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in 
Vienna:

Thank you, Madam Chair. 
 
We commend the Armenian and Turkish governments for their 
courage in taking a historic step forward on October 10 in 
the process of normalizing of their relations. 
 
Secretary of State Clinton was present in Zurich to witness 
the signing of the protocols, reinforcing our commitment to 
this important milestone for both Turkey and Armenia towards 
a more productive and fruitful relationship. 
 
The United States remains ready to work closely with both 
governments in support of this process, which will contribute 
to peace, security, and stability throughout the region.
