1.  On November 21, Post received a note verbale in English 
dated November 21 announcing the candidacy of Professor 
Attila Harmathy for re-election to the Governing Council of 
the International Institute for the Unification of Private 
Law (UNIDROIT) for the 2009-2013 period and proposing 
Hungarian support for the U.S. candidate, Henry D. Gabriel, 
in return for U.S. support for the Hungarian candidate.

received:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary 
presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States 
of America and has the honour to inform it that the 
Government of the Republic of Hungary decided to nominate 
Professor Attila Harmathy as a candidate for re-election to 
the Governing Council of the International Institute for the 
Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) for the 2009-2013 
period.  The elections will be held at the 63rd session of 
the General Assembly of UNIDROIT on 11th December 2008 in 
Rome. 
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary 
therefore has the honour to propose to support the candidacy 
of Henry D. Gabriel for election to the Governing Council of 
UNIDROIT, in return for the support of the United States of 
America to the candidacy of Professor Attila Harmathy to the 
same body. 
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary 
avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of 
the United States of America the assurances of its highest 
consideration.
