¶1.  (SBU) As per reftel, on June 23, 2008 ECONCHIEF interviewed Mr. 
Mehmet Ege who is seeking redress from being placed on the U.S. (TSA) 
No-Fly List.  Mr. Ege is a pilot for Emirates Airline and holds a 
Canadian passport.  His passport number is BA141761.  It was issued 
on April 18, 2006 and expires on April 18, 2011.  Mr. Ege is 
currently a resident of the UAE, living in Dubai.  However, he was 
born in Turkey and still retains his Turkish citizenship.  According 
to his passport, he was born on January 12, 1973.  Mr. Ege is a first 
officer and has also worked for Gulf Air, AtlasJet/Thai Jet 
Intergroup, Co, Ltd., MNG Airlines, and THY Airlines.  Mr. Ege signed 
a statement authorizing a background investigation. 
 
¶2.  (SBU) Mr. Ege had apparently also been placed on the Australia 
No-Fly list but provided a copy of a letter from the government of 
Australia stating that he may travel to Australia as a crew member 
for Emirates.  Mr. Ege is seeking similar relief from the U.S. 
Government.  His address is P.O. Box 92 (FC 1462), Dubai, UAE and 
phone number is 971-50-328-43-07.  Mr. Ege listed his email address 
as:  skyking06@hotmail.com.  Post made copies of his passport, 
identification, and resume.
