(C) Further to Ref B, the Ambassador May 15 discussed the 
upcoming UN Human Rights Council election with MFA Assistant 
Under Secretary for Coordination and Follow Up Shaikh Abdul 
Aziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.  Indicating that Bosnia had 
officially announced its candidacy, the Ambassador said that 
Bahrain could now avoid Belarus by voting in favor of two 
alternative candidates.  Shaikh Abdul Aziz said that he and 
his staff had discussed the election earlier that day and had 
decided to vote in favor of Slovenia and Bosnia for the two 
Eastern European group seats.
