1. As requested by reftel, a diplomatic note (No. 063 dated March 
16, 2006) was delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/MFA's 
Division of Sea, Antarctic and Space (DMAE), along with forms 
detailing the Ronald H. Brown research vessel's specifications to 
obtain clearance for its proposed visit to the Port of Recife, 
Brazil, during the period of June 18 to June 22, 2006. 
 
2. Post will work with MFA to finalize approval for this port call 
and understands that no research will be conducted in Brazilian 
waters in connection with this port visit. Post will forward 
clearance upon receipt.
