OCT 2005

1. (SBU) On 15 Oct 2005, Attac, a global coalition of
non-governmental organizations, stated they would be rallying
approximately 5,000 people in Geneva to protest the World
Trade Organization (WTO) ministerial meeting scheduled for
December in Hong Kong. The protest is set to take place in
front of the WTO building in Geneva O/A 1400.

2. (SBU) The organizers claim the event is to protest what
they see as an unfair deal for developing countries.
Representatives from the organization "Focus on Global South"
claim they will have approximately 8,000 possible protesters
during the December WTO meeting in Hong Kong.
