is the organization in charge of the joint Brazilian- 
Paraguayan Itaipu hydroelectric dam.  Foreign 
bidders must participate only through their duly 
registered local agents or representatives.  Tender 
specifications cost Guaranies 120,000, and can be 
viewed on the Itaipu web pages: 
http://www.itaipu.gov.py or ...gov.br.  The present 
free floating exchange rate is approximately 
Guaranies 6,250 per U.S. Dollar.  To purchase 
specifications interested parties must submit a note 
on company letterhead, including name and address of 
the foreign firm's authorized agent in Paraguay, to 
the Itaipu Binacional address in Asuncion, Paraguay,
