Understanding cables

1. (SBU) On October 26, PolOff conveyed to MFA International 
Organizations and Conferences Department UN Division Deputy 
Director Shen Yinyin points (ref A) on U.S. plans to sponsor 
or co-sponsor delisting 24 individuals and five entities 
contained in tranche 3 list of names from the 1267 
Consolidated List pursuant to paragraph 25 of UN Security 
Council Resolution 1822 and requesting that China provide any 
additional information that might be pertinent to the USG 
review.  Deputy Director Shen said she would circulate the 
information to relevant ministries within the Chinese 
government and report the U.S. request to her superiors.  She 
noted that China had had no objections to the U.S. delisting 
requests for tranches 1 and 2 (ref E).
