SUBJECT: SOMALIA - LEAHY VETTING FOR TFG TROOP TRAINING IN 
UGANDA 
 
1.  Paragraph 2 is a list of officers in charge of a 
battalion of Transitional Federal Government National 
Security Force (army) recruits.  The officers and recruits 
will be trained at Uganda's Bihanga military training 
facility with USG support.  Post is reviewing its records to 
verify there have been no human rights violations for the 
officers below.  Post requests Washington also vet these 
individuals. 
 
2. The following are names and birth years of officers in the 
newly recruited NSF battalion.  They are all Somali citizens 
born in Somalia (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Year of 
Birth).
