  • The bottom box presents the body of the cable. The opening can contain a more specific subject, references to other cables (browse by origin to find them) or additional comment. This is followed by the main contents of the cable: a summary, a collection of specific topics and a comment section.

Discussing cables
If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). Please mark messages for social networking services like Twitter with the hash tags #cablegate and a hash containing the reference ID e.g. #09MANAGUA557.

1.  We request the Department's assistance in screening the 
following individual who haS been nominated for USG-funded 
training, pursuant to the Leahy Act and the Foreign 
Assistance Act. 
 
2.  The following individual will attend the CFAC Logistics 
Course from June 17-26, 2009.  The name is listed with the 
surnames first, followed by rank and DOB: 
 
Unit: PKO/Nicaraguan Army

3.  Post has completed its own vetting and found no credible 
evidence of gross violations of human rights. 
 
4.  In order to prepare for the participant's travel, we 
appreciate the Department's response by June 15, 2009.
