Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:

(SBU) Poloff conveyed reftel demarche regarding renewal of 
the Sudan Special Rapporteur's mandate to Mr. Nik Ady, 
Assistant Secretary for Human Rights in the Foreign 
Ministry's International Law Society Unit of the Multilateral 
Political Division, on June 4.  Nik told Poloff that Malaysia 
has not yet decided on its position regarding the Special 
Rapporteur, but is currently engaged with its embassies 
abroad and considering the issue.  Nik said that Malaysia 
will finalize its position "sometime next week."  Post will 
forward any additional information we receive.
