Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). 1.  (U) Per reftel instructions, Mission has reviewed the 
candidacy of Lucretia Myers for the UN International Civil 
Service Commission (ICSC) with the GOI.  Poloff discussed the 
matter with Cicilia Rusdiharini, Deputy Director for American 
Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs, on June 2.  We 
underscored the importance of the ICSC to UN human resource 
operations, and noted Ms. Myers' outstanding qualifications 
and experience, including her work with the ICSC.  We urged 
Indonesia to support her candidacy. 
 
2.  (U) Rusdiharini said Indonesian officials would carefully 
review Myers' qualifications as it considered her candidacy. 
She noted that Indonesia does not normally announce in 
advance how it will vote in UN elections such as this.
