1. (U) SUMMARY: Post received a note from the German 
government regarding the accession of the Government of 
Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Mozambique to 
 
the Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).

2. (U) BEGIN TEXT: 
The Federal Office presents its compliments to the Parties and 
signatory States to the Convention of 23 June 1979 on the 
Conservation of Migration Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and 
has the honour to communicate the following information: 
 
With document of accession dated 26 November 2008 the 
Government of Montenegro has communicated its accession to the 
Convention of 23 June 1979 on the Conservation of Migratory 
Species of Wild Animals to the Government of the Federal 
Republic of Germany as the Depositary pursuant to Article XVII 
of the Convention by deposing the accession document at the 
Federal Foreign Office of Germany on 9 December 2008. 
 
The Convention did, in accordance with Article XVII paragraph 
2 thereof, enter into force for Montenegro on 1 March 2009. 
 
With document of accession dated 4 May 2009 the Government of 
the Republic of Mosambique has communicated its accession to 
the Convention of 23 June 1979 on the Conservation of 
Migratory Species of Wild Animals to the Government of the 
Federal Republic of Germany as the Depositary pursuant to 
Article XVII of the Convention by deposing the accession 
document at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany on 18 May 
2009. 
 
The Convention shall, in accordance with Article XVII 
paragraph 2 thereof, enter into force for the Republic of 
Mosambique on 1 August 2009. 
 
The Federal Foreign Office avails itself on this opportunity 
to renew to the Parties and signatory States to the Convention 
of 23 June 1979 on the Conservation of Migratory Species of 
Wild Animals the assurances of its hightest consideration.
