Understanding cables

ΒΆ1.  (SBU) In response to reftel, Department of Foreign 
Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) Senior Advisor for 
Defense and Security Relations Sarah Robertson promised to 
draft and clear the required correspondence and convey it as 
soon as possible to our Charge d'Affaires.  DFAIT will ensure 
that U.S. officials receive the letter in time to circulate 
Canada's qualifications to the Contact Group on Piracy off 
the Coast of Somalia (CGPCS), with the expectation that the 
Contact Group will approve Canadian membership at its July 
2009 meeting, she said.
