Understanding cables

1. (U) This is an action request.  See paragraph three. 
 
2. (SBU) Embassy received note from MFA March 2 regarding FM Prince 
Saud Al Faisal's planned March 4 trip to Damascus from Cairo.  Begin 
text: 
 
[Complimentary opening] ... His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al-Faisal 
will be visiting Damascus on the coming Wednesday on a U.S. 
registered aircraft, type 767, and call signal N767.  The aircraft's 
route will be (Cairo-Damascus-Riyadh). 
 
The Embassy is kindly requested to notify the concerned authorities 
in Washington to get the necessary clearance as the above mentioned 
aircraft is U.S. registered.  [Complimentary closing]

3. (SBU) Embassy understands from Ref Email that the Saudis may need 
a Temporary Sojourn License from the Department of Commerce Bureau 
of Industry and Security.  Embassy requests State and Commerce 
assistance expediting the Saudi request.
