Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.
  • The middle box contains the header information that is associated with the cable. It includes information about the receiver(s) as well as a general subject.
  • The bottom box presents the body of the cable. The opening can contain a more specific subject, references to other cables (browse by origin to find them) or additional comment. This is followed by the main contents of the cable: a summary, a collection of specific topics and a comment section.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). 1.  (SBU) Ministry of Foreign Affairs Head of United Nations 
Division Azzedine Farhane is the primary Government of 
Morocco (GOM) point of contact (POC) for Nonproliferation 
Treaty (NPT) related issues.  Poloff Jimmy Mauldin will 
remain Post's primary POC on NPT issues until June 2009. 
 
2.  (SBU)  Poloff contacted Farhane by telephone February 2 
to discuss reftel message related to the upcoming May 2009 
NPT Third Preparatory Committee meeting in New York and is 
preparing a non-paper of NPT related questions for Farhane to 
address.  Poloff will follow up with Farhane next week to 
receive GOM response to the proposed questions and will 
report via Front Channel cable before the February 20 
deadline.
