Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:

1. (SBU) On January 16, Ambassador delivered reftel demarche 
in separate farewell 
calls on Austrian Foreign Minister Spindelegger and MFA 
Secretary General Kyrle. 
 
2. (SBU) FM Spindelegger and SG Kyrle listened carefully to 
reftel points and 
expressed appreciation for the information.  Both stressed 
the importance of a 
rapid end to the violence in Gaza, and hoped that the US 
initiative would help 
in this regard.
