Understanding cables

 1. (SBU)  Ambassador Ned L. Siegel respectfully requests 
permission to travel to Washington, D.C. from December 3-5, 
2008 to attend the 2008 WHA Chiefs of Mission Conference to 
be held at the Brookings Institue, Department of State and 
the National Press Club.  The Ambassador's travel schedule is 
as follows: 
 
-- Ambassador Siegel will depart Nassau o/a Wednesday, 
December 3, 2008 at 12:00 pm via US Airways #0792 and arrive 
in Washington, D.C. at 2:30 pm.  The Ambassador will depart 
Washington,D.C. on Friday, December 5 at 5:10 pm via American 
Airlines #1219, transiting through Miami, connecting to 
American Airlines #4951 and return to post at approximately 
10:30 pm.  Hotel reservations have been confirmed at the 
Westin Grand Hotel for the nights of December 3 and 4.  The 
Ambassador's itinerary will follow via separate e-mail to 
WHA/CAR desk officer Cadieux. 
 
2. (SBU) During the Ambassador's absence, Deputy Chief of 
Mission Timothy P. Zuniga-Brown will assume charge. 
 
3. (SBU) Overview Papers will be sent to Transition Team via
