1. (SBU) This is an action request.  Please see paragraph 2. 
 
2. (SBU) ACTION REQUEST: On November 14, AIT received a letter from 
the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of the Taiwan Ministry of 
Economic Affairs requesting detailed personal data on individuals 
listed in UNSCRs 1737, 1747, and 1803 so that Taiwan's National 
Immigration Agency can effectively implement travel restriction 
provisions of the UNSCRs.  AIT requests the information be sent, as 
appropriate, so that it can be forwarded to Taiwan authorities.  An 
unofficial AIT translation of the letter follows: 
 
BEGIN TRANSLATION 
 
Subject: To help Taiwan comply with travel restriction provisions of 
UNSCRs 1737, 1747 and 1803 on specific foreigners, BOFT would like 
to seek AIT's assistance in obtaining complete background 
information, including nationalities and dates of birth, so that the 
information could be forwarded to the National Immigration Agency 
(NIA) for appropriate action. 
 
Explanation:   This letter is being made at the request of Ministry 
of Foreign Affairs, Bureau of Consular Affairs.
