SUBJECT: KYRGYZ UN MISSION RENTAL ARREARS 
 
¶1. Action Request. See Para 3. 
 
¶2. Landlord Vornado Realty Trust informed USUN that the 
Permanent Mission of t he Kyrgyz Republic to the UN is 
currently in arrears of $45,130.85 for rent and related 
monthly charges for its offices at 866 UN Plaza, Suite 477, 
NY, NY. The Kyrgyz Mission has a history of indebtedness to 
the landlord, and some outstanding rent payments date back to 
¶2003. 
 
¶3. Although Vornado has acknowledged cooperation and partial 
payments by the current Ambassador, Nurbek Jeenbaev, the 
landlord is seeking assistance from the USG for full payment. 
Department may wish to instruct Amembassy Bishkek demarche 
the GOK MFA at an appropriately senior level, stressing the 
urgent need for fiscal responsibility as well as the need to 
address the Mission's rental arrears.
