Understanding cables

1. (SBU) Embassy delivered reftel demarche to the Ministry of 
Foreign Affairs.  In addition, the Ambassador spoke by 
telephone to MFA Chief-of-Staff Mahmoud Khemiri to request 
GOT support in canceling or delaying the Saudi proposed 
Ministerial-level UNSC meeting on Israeli settlement 
activity.  Khemiri promised to relay the message to Minister 
of Foreign Affairs Abdelwaheb Abdallah who is in New York. 
He did not comment on the substance of the message. 
 
2. (SBU)  Recommendation:  Post recommends that the 
Department contact the Tunisian Embassy in Washington or the 
Tunisian Mission in New York to double track this message and 
ensure it gets through to Abdallah.
