Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). 1. (U) Consulate General Guangzhou is pleased to announce that it 
will host the 2008 South China Reporting Officers Conference 
September 24-27, 2008.  Consulate General Guangzhou welcomes 
attendance and participation from all addressee posts.

3. (U) Events will include a no-host welcome dinner on September 24, 
a reception on September 25 at the Consul General's residence and 
optional travel in the Pearl River Delta on September 26.  A 
detailed itinerary will follow via email. Post extends an invitation 
to all participants to volunteer to lead a discussion session.

5. (U) Officers should plan to arrive in Guangzhou by the evening of 
Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Conference participants will be 
lodged at the Westin Hotel - Guangzhou, conveniently located next to 
the conference site. Rooms will be reserved, within per diem, for 
the nights of September 24, 25, and 26. Transportation from the 
airport to the hotel will also be provided. Please forward travel 
itineraries via email to Ashley Brady.
