Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.
  • The middle box contains the header information that is associated with the cable. It includes information about the receiver(s) as well as a general subject.
  • The bottom box presents the body of the cable. The opening can contain a more specific subject, references to other cables (browse by origin to find them) or additional comment. This is followed by the main contents of the cable: a summary, a collection of specific topics and a comment section.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). 1. (SBU)  In response to reftel questions, Litef GmbH 
provided us with the following: 
 
-- Annual Sales reports for 2006 and 2007.  Litef said that 
the agreement took effect in May 2006. 
They also said that they have had no sales under this DA to 
date in 2008. 
 
-- The reports provided state that the sales under DA 2592-05 
were to the following Ministry of Defense 
organizations:  Republic of Singapore Navy, Turkish Navy, 
Royal Malaysian Navy and the German Ministry of Defense. 
 
-- Litef stated that no sales to Russia, Venezuela or 
Indonesia took place. 
 
-- Litef stated that Litef has no possibility to perform 
repair work on the Application Specific Integrated Circuits. 
 
-- Litef stated that the controlled items are stored in a 
dedicated portion of the warehouse, separate from other 
items.
