Understanding cables

1. (SBU) The first group of Palestinian Authority 
Presidential Guard (PG) personnel to train at the Jordan 
International Police Training Center (JIPTC) completed their 
two-month training program in Jordan and took part in a 
graduation ceremony on April 13.  United States Security 
Coordinator Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton spoke at the ceremony, as 
did dignitaries from Jordan's Public Security Directorate and 
the Palestinian Authority. 
 
2. (SBU) All of the 418 PG trainees departed Jordan via the 
King Hussein/Allenby Bridge, without incident on the 
Jordanian side of the Jordan river, and entered the West Bank 
during the early morning of April 14. 
 
3. (SBU) Approximately 600 National Security Forces personnel 
are continuing their four-month program at JIPTC and are 
scheduled to conclude their training and return to the West 
Bank on May 27.
