1.  On March 14, POLOFF conveyed to Moroccan Ministry of 
Foreign Affairs (MFA) Chief of the Security and Disarmament 
Section Mr. Driss Rushdy reftel points concerning obligations 
imposed on U.N. member states by the recent adoption of UNSCR 
1803, which imposes further sanctions on Iran for its failure 
to comply with UNSCRs 1737 and 1747 concerning its nuclear 
program. 
 
2.  Mr. Rushdy accepted non-papers drawn from reftel on the 
resolution and the accompanying P5 1 Foreign Ministers 
statement and said that he would convey the information to 
his superiors.  Rushdy expressed Moroccan support for 
adoption of the resolution, adding that Iran, as an IAEA 
signatory country, must to live up to all of its 
U.N.-mandated obligations.  At the same time, he voiced 
support for the right of all countries, including Iran, to 
pursue peaceful uses for nuclear technology.  He closed by 
underscoring Morocco's hope that the impasse with Iran could 
be solved peacefully through negotiations.
