(SBU) On March 22, reftel information was provided to Eva
Papakyriakou, head of the Cypriot FIU - MOKAS. She advised
that MOKAS had issued a circular to all financial
institutions, accountants and lawyers dated November 2 based
on FATF's October findings regarding Iran, and will issue an
update to include the additional banks named in the latest
FATF release. Papakyriakou noted with pride that Cyprus was
one of the first countries to implement the FATF guidelines
on Iran and that, as a member of the European Council, EU and
MONEYVAL, Cyprus routinely implements all FATF
recommendations.
