Understanding cables

1. PolOff delivered reftel demarche March 20 to Ambassador Oscar 
Matondo, Director of International Organizations at the DRC Foreign 
Ministry. 
 
2. Matondo stated that the DRC enjoys good relations with Iran, but 
is also a member of the UN and recognizes its responsibility to 
comply with Security Council resolutions.  Matondo said that the DRC 
will fully comply with Resolution 1803 and that he will forward the 
sanctions lists to the respective ministries for enforcement.  He 
expressed the DRC's desire for a peaceful outcome to the question of 
Iran's nuclear activities.
