Understanding cables

(SBU)  The acting Deputy Director of the Africa Division at 
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International 
Cooperation, Ali Mwadini, received reftel demarche and told 
PolCouns on March 6 he would discuss the USG concerns that 
Chad and Sudan immediately cease all support for cross-border 
rebel groups with his director, Ambassador Francis Malumbugi. 
 Mwadini said he would contact the Embassy within a few days 
with an update on the African Union (AU) mediation effort as 
well as possible suggestions on how the international 
community could support this effort.
