Understanding cables

Discussing cables
If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). Please mark messages for social networking services like Twitter with the hash tags #cablegate and a hash containing the reference ID e.g. #07OTTAWA2274.

REVIEW CONFERENCE FUNDING 
 
1.  (U) This is an action request -- see para 3. 
 
2.  (SBU)  Deputy Director Robert Sinclair in DFAIT's Human 
Rights Division confirmed on December 17 that Canada would 
vote against the funding of the Durban Review Conference in 
the upcoming plenary vote.  He added that Canada is more 
concerned with how the issue will play out in the Fifth 
Committee, and expressed interest in our views. 
 
3.  (U)  Action request -- please advise how to respond to 
Sinclair's request for our views.
