Understanding cables

Poloff on October 22 conveyed to the MFA reftel points and 
biographic information urging that the Chinese government 
support David M. Walker's election to the UN Independent 
Audit Advisory Committee (IAAC).  MFA International 
Organizations and Conferences Department UN Division Deputy 
Director Yao Shaojun was not prepared to reply immediately, 
but said Walker's candidacy would receive serious 
consideration.
