Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. Linking to a specific paragraph in the body of a cable is also possible by copying the appropriate link (to be found at theparagraph symbol). SUBJECT: COUNTRY CLEARANCE REQUEST FOR JAMES DUDLEY 
 
 
1. Country clearance is requested for Madrid's Economic 
Counselor, James Dudley, to travel to Brussels, Belgium from 
September 24 to 26.  The purpose of travel is for 
consultations on September 25 and 26. 
 
2.  Please designate a control officer. Assistance with 
appointments and access to the Embassy is required. 
 
3.  Please make hotel reservations within perdiem. 
 
4.  Mr. Dudley holds a top secret clearance.  His travel 
itinerary follows: 
 
Depart Madrid via Iberia - IB 3214 on 24 Sept. at 1620 and 
arrives in Brussels at 1840. 
 
Depart Brussels via Iberia - IB 3197 on 26 Sept. at 1605.
