Per reftel request, on August 8 Poloff delivered diplomatic 
note and Ms. Gaer's CV to Merab Manjgaladze, Head of the UN 
Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Manjgaladze 
said that the Georgian government would take Ms. Gaer's 
candidacy under consideration and would deliver an official 
reply by mid-September.  He added that he thought Georgia 
would support Ms. Gaer's candidacy.
