IMPORTED FIBERGLASS 
 
 
1.  (U) In a letter dated July 31, 2007, the Ministry of Economic 
Development and Trade (MEDT) provided a courtesy notice to the 
Embassy regarding the Russian government's decision to extend by 
three months its dumping investigation of fiberglass imports.  The 
text of the MEDT letter reads as follows:

"Moscow, 31 July 2007 
 
Dear Mr. Ambassador, 
 
Allow me to assure you of my highest consideration and to inform you 
that in accordance with order No. 248 from the Ministry of Economic 
Development and Trade of the Russian Federation dated 20 July 2007, 
the special protective investigation relating to fiberglass imported 
into the Russian Federation has been extended for three months (to 
21 October 2007).  The official notification about the extension of 
the investigation was published in 'Rossiyskaya Gazeta' No. 160 of 
26 July 2007 and was posted on the official site of the Ministry of 
Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation (text of 
the official notification is attached).

OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION 
From the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian 
Federation 'On Extending the Special Protection Investigation 
Regarding Fiberglass Imported into the Customs Territory of the 
Russian Federation' 
 
In accordance with Part 9, Article 26 of Federal Law No. 165-FZ 
dated 8 December 2003 'On Special Protective, Antidumping and 
Compensatory Measures in the Import of Goods,' the Ministry of 
Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation extends by 
a period of three months (to 21 October 2007) the special protective 
investigation, initiated on 21 October 2006, regarding fiberglass 
imported into the customs territory of the Russian Federation. 
Official notification about the beginning of said investigation was 
published in 'Rossiyskaya Gazeta' No. 237 on 21 October 2006.
