SUBJECT: LEAHY VETTING REQUEST: Language and Military Training for 
Two ANA Officers 
 
 
1. This is an action request - see paragraph 2. 
 
2. In order to comply with Leahy human rights vetting requirements, 
this cable forwards the names and biodata of two Afghan National 
Army (ANA) officers.  Major Sakhi Mohammad Bariz will receive 
language training at Lackland AFB and Ranger training at Ft. 
Benning.  Major Mohammad Raqib Saifi will receive language training 
at Lackland AFB and proceed to the Naval Staff College, Annapolis, 
MD.  Both officers will depart for the United States in October 
2007.  Post has found no derogatory information.  Post requests 
Department's review of these candidates and response by August 16, 
2007.
