Understanding cables

SUBJECT: LEAHY VETTING REQUEST: Pilot Training and Marshall Center 
Guest Speaker 
 
1. This is an action request - see paragraph 2. 
 
2. In order to comply with Leahy human rights vetting requirements, 
this cable forwards the names and biodata of an Afghan National Army 
(ANA) cadet and a Ministry of Interior (MOI) general officer.  The 
cadet will receive English language and pilot training in the United 
States starting in July 2007.  The MOI General Officer will be a 
guest speaker at the Marshall Center in Germany, July 9-13. Post has 
reviewed the information available on these individuals and has 
found no derogatory information.  Post requests Department's review 
of these candidates and response by June 22, 2007.
