1.  This is an action request -- please see paragraph 2. 
 
2. On March 7, we received a diplomatic note from the MFA 
notifying us of the National Assembly's ratification of 
Bulgaria's decision to extend its military mission in Camp 
Ashraf.  We would appreciate Department assistance in 
providing a response as requested. 
 
3. Post's informal translation of the dip. note follows.  A 
copy of the original will be sent to the desk separately.

REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA 
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS 
 
No. 54-05-24 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic o Bulgaria 
presents its compliments to the Embass of the United States 
of America in Sofia and ha the honor to inform that with a 
law, passed on Fbruary 21, 2007, and published in the "State 
Gaztte" issue 19 of March 2, 2007, the National Assemly of 
the Republic of Bulgaria ratified the Agrement between the 
Government of the Republic of Blgaria and the Government of 
the United States ofAmerica with regard to the extension of 
the partcipation of a Bulgarian military contingent in ahumanitarian mission for the guarding of the Cente for 
Temporary Detention and Protection at Camp shraf in Iraq 
concluded through exchange of noteson February 2, 2007. 
 
In accordance with the Agrement's provisions, which set 
forth the condtions of its entry into force, it is subject 
to ratification by the National Assembly of the Republic of 
Bulgaria and will become effective on the day of Bulgaria's 
notification that all constitutional procedures have been 
fulfilled. 
 
In this regard, the Ministry would be grateful if the Embassy 
would confirm the receipt of this note and specify the date 
on which the above-mentioned Agreement has entered into force. 
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria 
avails itself of the opportunity to renew to the Embassy of 
the United States of America the assurances of its highest 
consideration.
