Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.
  • The middle box contains the header information that is associated with the cable. It includes information about the receiver(s) as well as a general subject.

1.  Director Stephen M. Young requests approval to be absent 
from AIT for consultations and annual leave from March 24, 
2007 until April 7, 2007, with consultation days from March 
26 - 30, 2007 and April 4 - 5, 2007 and annual leave April 2 
- 3, 2007 (April 6 is a travel day). 
 
2.  Post requests business class air travel due to travel in 
excess of 14 hours.  Business class fare via United is USD 
4,616 and Coach fare is USD 2,366.
