Understanding cables

Per reftel, Agricultural Counselor - Peter Kurz - met with the 
appropriate GOE officials in the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) and 
the Ministry of Trade to discuss Egypt's level of participation at 
the upcoming Codex meeting in Chiba, Japan. GOE officials support 
the U.S. position and will have their delegate - Dr.Taimour Naser 
El-Din, Chairman, Agriculture Engineering and Genetic Research 
Institute - contact the U.S. delegation to coordinate action at the 
meeting.
