Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. 1. (SBU) We delivered reftel demarche July 18 to MFA First 
Secretary Meltem Guney of the Deputy Directorate General for 
 
SIPDIS 
International Political Organizations.  Guney explained that 
there were tentative plans for Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul 
to attend the 61st UN General Assembly (UNGA) from September 
15-24.  Guney was not aware of any plans for Gul to travel to 
Washington during this period.  Gul's spouse would likely 
accompany him.  As Gul speaks English, no translator would be 
needed. 
 
2. (SBU) At present there were no firm, plans for other 
Turkish VIPs or additional Foreign Ministry officials to 
attend.  The Turkish Consulate in New York would inform USG 
authorities of the members of the final Turkish delegation.
