(SBU) Ambassador conveyed the invitation to the Lebanon Core 
Group meeting to Foreign Minister al-Khatib, and discussed it 
with the King's Office Director and the Director of General 
Intelligence.  Ambassador expects to hear a formal reply from 
the King, currently out of the country, at a meeting on July
