Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

We delivered o June 8 reftel  demarche to Department of 
Foreign Affairs (DEPLU) Directorate of North and Central 
American Affairs Ahimsa Sukartono, emphasizing a sense of 
urgency and high-level USG interest to finalize ASEAN-U.S. 
Enhanced Partnership Plan of Action during upcoming meetings 
in Seoul.  We added that State would deliver a similar 
message to the Indonesian Ambassador in Washington later in 
the day.  Ahimsa read through the non-paper and promised to 
pass it immediately to DEPLU staff responsible for ASEAN 
issues by way of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul. DEPLU 
Director General for ASEAN Issues Dian Triansyah Djani and 
Director for Dialogue Partners and Inter-regional Affairs 
Bagas Hapsoro, our two principle DEPLU ASEAN interlocutors, 
are currently in Seoul attending ASEAN Plus Three meetings.
