(SBU) On May 23, emboff delivered reftel points to Department 
of Foreign Affairs Middle East and North Africa Section 
Deputy Director Stephen Dawson.  In response, Dawson said 
although no public announcements are expected to be issued by 
the GOI, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dermot Ahern will 
insert a statement welcoming the newly established Iraqi 
Cabinet when answering questions pertaining to the situation 
in Iraq in Parliament.  He also stated that the GOI does not 
envision sending any officials to Iraq, due to the lack of 
any pertinent issues to discuss, but will meet with Iraqi 
officials traveling to Ireland in June.
