1.  On May 10, 2006, Embassy received Brazilian Government 
Diplomatic Note DMAE/026/MESP-BRAS-EUA with a proposed Technical 
Scientific and Financial Cooperation Agreement between the Brazilian 
Ministry of Science and Technology - MCT, through the National 
Institute for Amazon Research - INPA, and the Smithsonian 
Institution - SI. 
 
2. Informal translation of text of DIP NOTE 026 is as follows:

"DMAE/026/MESP-BRAS-EUA 
 
The Ministry of External Relations sincerely compliments the Embassy 
of the United States of America in Brasilia and has the honor to 
forward, per request of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the 
attached proposal agreement between the Ministry of Science and 
Technology, the National Institute for Amazon Research and 
Smithsonian Institution in the scope of Biological Dynamics of 
Forest Project and its respective Work Plan. 
 
Brasilia May 3, 2006."
