Understanding cables

ΒΆ1. (SBU) PolOff delivered March 3 reftel demarche and 
statements to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chief of Staff 
Jacques Djoli. Djoli said the GDRC deplored the attack on the 
Al-Askariya shrine as well as any acts of violence in Iraq. 
He added that the USG must find a solution to the violence or 
risk having it spread throughout the Middle East. Djoli said 
he would convey the request to issue a condemnation statement 
to the Minister of Foreign Affairs after his return from a 
trip in Europe.
