EXBS Advisor delivered reftel non-paper and talking points to
MFA Head of Department for Arms Control and Disarmament Osman
Yavuzalp on July 1, 2005. Yavuzalp thanked us for the
information concerning the executive order and the additional
information. Yavuzalp added that Turkey is a strong
supporter in all efforts to stop the proliferation of items
that could assist in the development of Weapons of Mass
Destruction. While Yavuzalp would not comment on the
technical aspects of the non-paper and talking points, he
assured EXBS Advisor that the information would be passed to
all relevant sections of MFA and other government
organizations to appropriate action. Finally, Yavuzalp stated
that he looks forward to the future exchange of information
concerning these companies, so that Turkey could take
appropriate action as allowed under Turkish law.
