SUBJECT:  PLANNED VISIT TO NY AND WASHINGTON BY IRAQI INTERIOR 
MINISTER JABOR 
 
1.  (SBU) Minister of Interior Baker Jabor plans to visit New 
York City from September 8 to 12 and Washington, DC from 
September 12 to 17. SecDef has invited the Minister. 
 
2.  (SBU) While in New York, Jabor hopes to participate in a 
9/11 memorial service, meet with the Iraqi Permanent 
Representative to the United Nations, and see his daughter. 
 
3.  (SBU) While in Washington, Jabor would like to meet with the 
Vice-President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of 
Defense, the Attorney General, and Congressional leaders. 
 
4.  (SBU) Post supports Jabor's request to meet with the 
Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, Attorney General, and 
 
SIPDIS 
Congressional leaders.  However, we do not favor a meeting 
between Minister Jabor and the Vice-President.
