  • The middle box contains the header information that is associated with the cable. It includes information about the receiver(s) as well as a general subject.
  • The bottom box presents the body of the cable. The opening can contain a more specific subject, references to other cables (browse by origin to find them) or additional comment. This is followed by the main contents of the cable: a summary, a collection of specific topics and a comment section.

START MEMO NOMINATING-JUSTIFICATION:
Mr. Najieeb is English teacher and vice principal of one of
the biggest high schools in Sanaa the capital of Yemen. Due
to his position as a teacher of the English language, he is
in a unique position to disseminate information learned on
the IVP upon his return. His position also makes him well
aware of many of the obstacles and problems involved in
teaching English as a second language. Mr. Najeeb is also a
member of the English curriculum committee where he is in a
position of influence involving setting curriculum standards
at the ministry of education. This visit will increase his
knowledge and, upon his return, he will be in a position to
share the experience with his colleagues and implement
changes in the English language program in the public
schools.

START MEMO NOMINATING-JUSTIFICATION:
Mr. Rashad was selected among many candidates because of his
active participation in the academic field in Yemen. He is
from a remote area and teaches at a new and growing college
(Community college Sanaa). His position as a young assistant
teacher and head of English department at the community
college and his responsibilities regarding curriculum and
methodology at the Community College puts him in a position
to influence change among the university students as well as
curriculum trends. His ambitious personality makes him very
eager to learn about the education system, political,
cultural, and social life in U.S.
