1. Action request.  As per reftel Post nominates Brune 
Mesguich-Jacquemin to attend the U.S. Patent and Trademark 
Office (USPTO) Academy on the Enforcement of Intellectual 
Property Rights.  She is currently serving as the 
intellectual property advisor at the French Embassy in 
Washington, D.C.  In this position, she advises French 
companies about intellectual property rights in the United 
States and keeps the French government briefed on American 
initiatives in this area.  Her knowledge and experience with 
intellectual property rights and enforcement perfectly fit 
the USPTO academy candidate criteria, and her cooperation 
with USPTO, USDOC and Embassy Paris is highly valued.  End 
action request. 
 
2. Biographical information.  Mesguich-Jacquemin possesses 
law degrees from both Georgetown University and University 
of Paris XI Sceaux, indicating knowledge of intellectual 
property law practices in both countries.  She is a member 
of the international network of over 40 IP attaches assigned 
overseas by the GOF to protect IP rights and advise 
companies.   Her previous experience includes work with both 
American and French law firms on trademark, copyright and 
patent law issues.  She is also a member of the American 
Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).  Her work 
experience coupled with her fluency in English make Mesguich- 
Jacquemin an ideal candidate for an USPTO intellectual 
property enforcement program.
