1.  (SBU) Further to reftel, contacts at Foreign Affairs 
Canada have just advised us that Foreign Minister Pierre 
Pettigrew is now scheduled to attend the CD Ministerial in 
Santiago, April 28-30. 
 
2.  (SBU) Canada's Chief Elections Officer, Jean-Pierre 
Kingsley, remains undecided because of the uncertain 
political situation in Canada, but is in direct contact with 
DRL regarding a possible role in discussions surrounding the 
elections standards initiative.
